Finding time

It's been one of those weeks round here, but I still managed to find time to mine through my stack of camping pictures. As such you all get to suffer the modern equivalent of a vacation slide show.

First up is a wide shot of our campsite. The rather large site allowed us to cram our massive red tent, the dining tent, my sister in law's tent and both vehicles on while still leaving plenty of room for the kids and the dog to ruin around as well as a nice fire area.

We had all manner of critters aroudn the camp from outhouse bats

and spiders

to critters not found in the bathrooms like frogs,

and dragonflies

and even a pretty trippy looking caterpillar that was temporarily detained by Megan and crowned as "Fuzzy the caterpillar"

We had the requisite chipmunk invaders that were looking for free eats but they met a new foe in Piper as she tried to chase them only to find her rope was a severe impediment to chipmunk hunting.

We managed to get in some fishing

Of course, fishing always looks a little different when one of the fishermen is a photographer

As the nights grew darker it was time for the fire to get going

Of course the night also brings opportunity for experimenting with a flashlight and a camera.

Camping is not just playing in the dark and pitching tents though

There's swimming and diving at the beach platforms

There's sitting by the water with a book of fishing pole.

There's canoeing

Minnow hunting

Hiking

and of course, just soaking in the sights is magical enough

One of the many windswept tress that dot the shorelines

Clicking here will take you to the rest.

Have you thought about submitting your pictures to Cottage Life Magazine's competition?
