Payback's A Bitch

And apparently so was his wife...

We've all heard the stories of divorces getting bitter, but sometimes it can get even crazier than we've heard. Clothes left out on the lawn, messages scribbled on spurned lovers' cars, all of these can't hold a candle to what went down on Dartmouth.

After reading that his £100,000 35ft Rebel yacht was advertised at £40,000 for "a quick sale" in the following ad;
    The advertisement read: "Ocean going 35ft sail boat. Fibre glass. All the extras. Make a nice river side home. Owner must sell quickly. Hence £40,000. Any quick cash offer seriously considered."

The man's wife says that hubby took an axe to the yacht and smashed the bilge pump to bits. As a result, the yacht sank, leaving only parts of the two masts above water. All they could get the wife to say was "It was a beautiful boat and he sank it," she said. "What more can I say? I am really fed up with it all. There was an argument between us."

All I can say is that it must have been one hell of an argument for her to try to sell the boat and him to scuttle the ship. Her attempt to unload the boat in a hurry have not only cost them their boat, but also about £10,000 in salvage costs that the harbourmaster is demanding from them for recovery costs.

Let this be a lesson to you all out there who are in a relationship. Before you pick a serious fight or plot your revenge, make sure the yacht is secured and well hidden.

On a more serious note, if you get a chance, please stop by Minerva's blog and wish her well. Her chemotherapy began yesterday and when you're feeling that queasy it does the soul good to smile, and to know people are pulling for you.

Pick your battles....figure out what's really worth fighting over.

That's one of THE BEST lessons I've learned after almost 13 years of marriage.

And I'll stop by Minerva's website and send her some well wishes too...:)

he probably had an affair on the boat, hence her wanting to sell it so cheap, and he didn't want her to get ANY pleasure out of selling it as such. yeah, i've been through a very very very bitter divorce.....i know how these things go!

It's one of those "He Said - She Said" things. She says he chopped up the bilge pump, but really, it was Sideshow Bob.
