HVAC Havoc

Fighting with my furnace all night, rest was secondary to staying warm. For the record
    Ancient Furnace 0 - Rainy Pete 1
(oh yeah you gas burning bastard - I won again!)

As such you get to stare at pictures of mine. I said stare dammit! (man I need sleep)

Speaking of furnaces... funny story, which is the opposite of your problem.

Some friends went away to Mexico last winter, and their furnace had been acting up. A service tech found nothing wrong with it, so they left for their vacation.

Upon their return, their house was hotter than Mexico. All their candles had melted into piles of goo. The cold water ran boiling hot. For the next 2 or 3 days they slept with all the windows open, in the dead of winter.

Turns out some heat-safety-shut-off thingy had failed.
