It's probably better than you think.

Can you feel the love here folks?

It's Monday and here at work I've hit the ground running. With not much time to post anything too involved I thought I just let everyone know that I'm alive and well. To add to the fun of the last week my big shiny television is now dead too and sitting in the repair shop waiting it's turn for repair. My car is still in limbo. Actually the car is sitting at the collision center, but it's fate is in limbo as the insurance people take their sweet time figuring out what they want to do about it.

I could easily mope and bitch about it all, but really it's not that bad. I'm feeling far better than the last week or so with the cold from hell. Nobody was hurt in the car crash and it will be sorted out sooner of later. My television is under warranty and will be repaired and then delivered to my house for me (Plus we are lucky enough to own two of them so we still have our mind numbing pap on tap available to us). I have my family and my home and life is pretty damn good despite the chaos. Besides, how could I have a bad week when I found the Cheerio you see at the top of this post in a bowl of cereal this weekend? Call it a reminder if you will. I leave you with the picture above as proof that life is not to be rushed through as a series of objectives to be completed. How else could you make it through your day and notice a heart in your cereal bowl right?

If you are feeling overloaded then you should try a trick I use all the time. Take time to find the love in your day and your life and you'll be better off for it. It's easy to fall into the trap of "later" but it's funny how all your tomorrows tend to pile up on you if you don't watch out for them. Take a minute or two to soak it all in and figure out what's really important each day and you'll have a better ability to wrestle with what is thrown at you. You may be shocked at all the good that's happening to you while you dwell on the bad. Your morning may actually be going well around you despite the fact that the guy who cut you off in traffic is occupying your mind. It takes some practice, but once you get the hang of it you could be surprised at what you see.

You are such an inspiration, Pete - I mean it - would you consider giving my boyfriend a few positive thinking tips? He's driving me bananas!

Pete you are awesome! You keep an amazing attitude. Sorry stuff has been crappy for you. I'm thinking of you and your family. I'm sure you are all suffering with the loss of the TV.
