And I'm a PC

Who else is getting their fill of those goofy Mac Ads with those two dudes on a white background? Well the good thing about pop culture is that once something has been around enough and gotten enough notice somebody will take a run at it.

The boys at TrueNuff have some great ads but the ones that got my attention were the Mac Ad Spoofs. Thanks to Frank for throwing this one on his site.

They have a site full of their video work here and their comics here. I love a good laugh and they've given me plenty. Then again I'm a bit strange and have a soft spot for sketch comedy that was built on a foundation late night of Monty Python and Benny Hill sessions.

I'm a PC too*. The most excellent thing about the ads in the UK has been that the public have found the Mac man far too smug for his own good and the ads are having an adverse effect.

Sometimes things just don't translate over the pond.

*Don't get me wrong, if I had the cash, I'd totally splash on a Mac.

love the spoof! I've been rather like the mac/pc ads, but I can see how mac man might be getting a bit too big for his britches (though, seriously, in the most recent one they've done something awful with his hair!)

don't have a tv, haven't seen the ads... i have a mac, love my mac and know there are lots advantages to it, but the amount of software for pc's far exceed the amount for macs (on line games, etc). i use a pc at work...mac at home, i guess i'm just bipolar i mean biputer.

I could actually watch that clip, ha ha, it was funny. I temporarily have speed internet (not dial up, like usual).

I looove their ads. My favorite line from one of the other spoofs is when they are discussing the lack of games for MACs when PC says "Photoshop's not a game".

I'm a PC. I had to work supporting MACs once. I walked into a room full of them, looked at the first desk and said, "So that's what a MAC looks like." The users about fell out of their chairs. They couldn't believe I was their tech support and I had never seen a MAC before. (This was pre-iMac)

You may also enjoy this: http://www.thebfas.com/films.html This is a group of friends of mine. They had some better ones up, but they took those down so people would by their DVD. However, "Douchenheimer and Deebs" is a pretty good one.

My story had a happy ending. I learned how to support the Apple IIe and the iMac when it came out, and kept their little lab running smoothly.

And despite working with Macs for four years, I still never developed a taste for them.
