A sad day indeed.

Due to a loss in the extended and dysfunctional HNT family there is no HNT this week. Last Thursday Betcha was killed in a car crash and the news has us all reeling a little. Where today is usually a source of foolishness and nekkidness today it is a little different. Instead of posting our pictures we pause to remember her and think of her family in this dark time.

Just before Christmas she celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her husband who she absolutely adored and boxing day marked her first year of blogging. All that has been erased by a car. No, not erased as the history will never be gone, but it has been halted in its tracks.

Things like this serve as a reminder to how precious life is folks. Don't waste time on the silly things that occupy our days. Remember that the mess in the house needs cleaning but your kids and family need you first.

Never make yourself so busy that you don't have time for a hug.

Always make time for something each day that makes you smile.

Don't waste your time trying to change things that you can't (or things that don't matter that much wither).

Be grateful for what you have and don't worry about what you don't. If you're able to read this you are already better off than many as some don't have access to computers or the internet, let alone the ability to read.

I know I'm rambling so I'll cut it off there. Just be sure to take a minute to remember Betcha and her family and take a few minutes to figure out what is really important to you today.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your family's loss. Thanks for the poignant reminder that life is short, to love our family and friends--and show them our love.

So strange how I feel very sad at this news, and yet I didn't know her. I don't recall visiting her site, yet her picture is so familiar that I Must have, at some point.

This kind of thing is so sad for all involved whether in "real" life or online. Wise words you've shared here!
